Monday Nights are Family Nights

BrWell I have to admit, we do notnhold family home evenings as much as when my sibs and I were younger. My brother and sister each have their own family now. So I am guessing they are holding their own family home evenings now.

What are family home evenings? It is a program in our church where we as family gather every Monday nights to have games, lessons and talk and basically just spend time with our family. The Church sets aside Monday nights for this but it can be held any day of the week.

It is such a great blessing for my family and myself to have this program. By doing this consistently when we were young, we have closer family ties, we help each other out, we are open to each other, we counsel and we learn together.

Last Monday night me and my family invited one family in our ward to join us, they are bew members in our ward. I tooj some pictures during but most parts I forgot to take pictures, maybe having too much fun.
My dad and brothe. My brother playing the guitar as accompaniment in our opening hymn and closing hymn.

Sharing a scripture verse before we get into the actual lesson.

My dad prepared a lesson for us about Paul's teaching found in 1 Corinthians 15:33

33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
1 Corinthians 15:33

It taught us how to speak kindly to each other.

Dad teaching us last Monday night and it really reminded me the old days. Hahahah

Then game time. Dad showed off with a magic trick everyone already know in our family. As it is always our game in our family home evenings. The family was really amazed ofbhis "magic trick"

And of course dinner time. My mom prepared menudo and gulaman.

Overall it was such a good night and hope we can do it again.

The Church of Jersus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

So here I am again starting a new blog. I hope this time I can follow through. Anyway as for my first post, I guess it is just right to know a little bit more about me and the Church I have loved so much.

Hi! I am Ruth. I graduated  and finished my course D Veterinary Medicine.  I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all my life.

I would love to share with you my experiences, challenges, how I deal with it and what I learn from my everyday experience and of course my testimony of my Church. I hope this would strengthen me and you to deal with our day to day challenge. So now I am off to work... Ta ta....
